People sometimes question their Realtor on the reasons why they should use the “for sale” sign to sell their home.  Although a sign is not the only sales aid available to the Realtor, it is a significant one. Here are the reasons why you should allow your Realtor to use a sign.


PRE-QUALIFIED BUYER

Any potential buyers who inquire about a certain home because of the sign are usually excellent prospects. You know that they like the neighborhood and the general ara. Location is always a major importance in any home buying decision.  If the callers did not like the area, they would not have wanted information on the subject property.

They obviously liked the external appearance of the house.  Because buyers have different tastes, it is sometimes difficult to find a home that has the design features that appeal to a certain buyer.  This is another reason why an inquiry from a sign is better than other sources of prospective buyers. If someone calls from a sign, you know that the calling party found the home to be attractive.


REFERRALS

The possibilities for potential referrals are endless when your Realtor uses a sign.  The mailman may have a friend who is looking for a home in the area. Transferees like to drive certain areas looking for available homes.  A neighbor may have a friend, relative, or co-worker who may be a potential buyer. If they don’t know the home is for sale, they can’t be of assistance.


PRIVACY

If you do not have a Realtor sign in your yard, people don’t know who to call for information.  So, they call the homeowner to ask where they can get information concerning the home. The Realtor’s sign directs inquiries away from the homeowner who doesn’t want to be bothered and to the professional who is trained and prepared to provide the necessary help.


ADVICE:  Allow your Realtor to use all the tools available.  Be sure to ask for a sign!
